AQUAVAP™ Analytical Nitrogen Evaporator for Water Sample Concentration

A modified version of the model 111 Nitrogen evaporator shown on page 8, the AQUAVAP, is designed to concentrate water-based samples in a variety of 50 to 150 ml flasks. It will also handle other high boiling point solvents in the 70° to 130°C range.

The AQUAVAP is often used for mineral analysis where acidic solutions are required. The acid-resistant construction and the ability to reach 100° C makes it suitable for these methods. A variety of flasks can be used including pear-shaped, jar shaped, round or Erlenmeyer in sizes shown below.

The bath temperature is set at 99° C or at the solvent boiling point if below 99° C. The Nitrogen flow rate is 660 ml/position/minute. Needles are 4 inches long by 14 gauge.

Complete Systems They include the instrument, bath, appropriate glassware and standard accessories as shown in the catalog or price list. Normally there is nothing else to buy and the system is ready for use after minor assembly. Products available as complete systems include S-EVAP,AQUAVAP and ROT-X-TRACT-S. All parts are made in U.S.A.

Complete Instruments They include the sample-holder assembly, manifold assembly, bath and standard accessories. Glassware is ordered separately or is user supplied. Products available as complete instruments include N-EVAP, MULTIVAP and ROT-X-TRACT-L. The S-EVAP and ROT X-TRACT-S can also be ordered this way (i.e., without glassware). The catalog number for a complete system or instrument consists of a 5-digit number that may be followed by an option code (numbers or letters). Example: Instrument Catalog No. 11250-RT2 is a 24 position N-EVAP with acid-resistant coating, Teflon®-covered needles and a 240-volt bath.

Glassware, Accessories and Parts These are individual items, subassemblies or sets of parts. They are used to complete, enhance or repair an installed instrument. That catalog number consists of a prefix code that identifies the item group, followed by a 4-digit product part number, and may be followed by an option code. Example: NA1105-14T is a package of one dozen needles, 14 gauge and Teflon® coated.
