Ethyoxylated Alcohols

SEDEX ELS DETECTOR APPLICATIONS
Effect of Low Operating (Evaporative) Temperature

Conditions

Column: Lichrospher NH2, 250 x 4.6 mm
Eluent: Hexane/2- Propanol/ Water
Flow rate: 1ml/min
Pressure: 2 bars
Gas: Nitrogen

Peaks, mg/ml

R12 OH, 10.5

R12 (OCH2CH2)OH, 10.2

R12 (OCH2CH2)2OH, 11.8

R12 (OCH2CH2)3OH, 9.2

R12 (OCH2CH2)4OH, 10.2

R12 (OCH2CH2)6OH, 10.4

R12 (OCH2CH2)8OH, 9.5

R12 (OCH2CH2)9OH, 13.0

Operating Temperature = 30°C

Operating Temperature = 60°C

Comparison of the above chromatograms clearly shows that lower operating (evaporative) temperature can greatly enhance analyte response, thus enabling significantly more accurate quantitative determinations. The unique design features of SEDEX ELS detectors allow them to operate at the lowest possible evaporative temperatures.
