Polymer-Based Columns (Asahipak)

Partition and adsorption chromatography is the most widely used analytical method in HPLC analysis. Shodex polymer-based columns for partition and adsorption chromatography (reversed and normal phase) is superior to silica-based media in range of eluent selection, lot reproducibility and durability. In addition to standard columns with ID 4.6-6.0mm, we provide micro columns with ID 300micron-800micron, semi-micro columns with ID 1.0mm-2.0mm and preparative columns with ID 10mm and above.

Since the pore size of packing material for Asahipak ODP, C8P and C4P series is large, only one type of column is needed for the analysis of high molecular weight substances such as proteins to medium/low molecular weight substances such as peptides and amino acids. Hydrophobic interaction becomes weaker in the following order: ODP (octadecyl group), C8P (octyl group) and C4P (butyl group). Characteristics similar to the RSpak DE series can be found, when used in analysis with 100% water, when used with alkali eluent and when used in with low salt concentration.
ODP-40 High performance version of the ODP-50 series. ODP-50G 4A of the ODP-50 series must be used a the guard column.
NH2P These are polymer-based amino columns that incorporate an amino group in the polyvinyl alcohol based gel. They are suitable for analysis of saccharides in normal phase like silica-based amino columns (p.23, Fig. 7-7). They are superior to silica-based amino columns in terms of reproducibility and durability because of their stability in a wide range of pH.
