GFC & Ligand Exchange Columns for Saccharides: SUGAR KS-800

Saccharides are separated by combining size separation and ligand exchange. Since we provide columns that differ in molecular weight of exclusion limit, column selection can be made based on molecular weight of monosaccharide, disaccharide, oligosaccharide and polysaccharide.

Exclusion limit:
Measured with pullulan.
Eluent conditions:
1) Use distilled water as the eluent.
2) Remove extraneous substances and insolubles from the eluent by passing through 0.45 micron filter into a bottle and throughly degas it by, for instance, heating to about 60 deg-C in a water bath and shaking in an ultrasonic washing vessel with the ambient air pressure being simulataneously reduced by an aspirator. Use of a solvent degassing device of ERC degasser will facilitate the degassing work. 3) Adsorbed sometimes by the packing material, molecules of highly hydrophobic samples are to too slow to flow out of the column. In such a case, add polar organic solvent to the eluent to reduce the adsorptivity. For KS-801 to KS-803, polar organic solvent is added in an amount of 20% maximum to the eluent and for KS-804 to KS-807, polar organic solvent is added in an amount of 50% maximum to the eluent.
