Columns for Column Switching

Column switching analysis is suitable for concentration analysis of trace substances and online removal of high molecular weight foreign substances in the sample (e.g. proteins). We provide various pretreatment columns which feature high recovery rate of hydrophilic substances, or high removal rate of proteins, so you can select one that meets your analytical needs.

MSpak PK series	These are columns with a high removal rate of high molecular weight foreign substances, such as proteins and high adsorption of hydrophilic and hydrophobic substances, that are packed with hydrophilic copolymers containing N-vinyl acetamide. They are suitable for concentration analysis of various trace substances and as pretreatment columns for online analysis of chemical substances/metabolites in biological fluids. PK series incorporate cartridge type columns. Column holder, MSpak HLD, must be used when using these columns.
MSpak GF/GS series	These are columns for removal of high molecular weight foreign substances by GFC mode. Because polyvinyl alcohol is used for packing, these columns are more effective than the PK series in removing high molecular weight foreign substances. However, they are less capable than the PK series in terms of retaining hydrophilic substances. They cannot therefore be used for concentration analysis of hydrophilic substances, such as caffeine.
Asahipak ODP-51 4B	These are columns packed with polymer-based gel bonded with C-18 groups. Compared with pretreatment columns that are packed with C-18 bonded silica gel (ODS pretreatment columns), these columns can be used in a wider pH range (pH 2-12).
